Good morning! This is Marlene Kristensen from Denmark.

Today I want to talk about giving you permission to fail. I know that, one of the biggest obstacles for getting success in life. Is..., for me at least, it has been this urge to be perfect and that you had to do everything right the first time. And if it didn't go right you were not good at it and it wasn't for you. Or it wasn't for me. And then I just have to move… move along… and give up.

So today I want to give you permission to fail your way to success. Because like we all know, little children learning to walk they fall on the bottom, they hurt themselves but they... we encourage them to get up and do it all over again. Over and over and over again.

And I know that analogy only helps you so far, but it seems like we stopped giving us off missions to be a little little children. We stopped recognizing that we could be learning something for the first time and then it's OK to not be good at it. It is ok to suck actually.

And it's also ok to change our minds, even though we thought we were on the right path. And then we learned something that made us realize that that what we thought was true, actually does not seem true to us anymore.

And then giving ourselves permission to... have a new opinion and be open about it.

I have changed my mind in this online marketing world so many times... and I've stumbled around, and I have made so many mistakes.

I remember back in the day where I was told “You just have to build it and they will come”. So, I learned how to create a blog and how to create pictures for my blog. I learned how to put sales buttons, affiliate links, what affiliate marketing was, and put it all on my blog and nobody came. Right…?

Then I learned how to... Well then you need to get eyeballs. You need to... ah, it's just that term “eyeballs”... you need to get traffic. And you can buy traffic, you can buy a clicks. So, I learned how to do banner ads and I learned how to buy clicks from other marketers. And I learned how to... You know, use social media to drive traffic... And oh my God it all seems so sleazy... but the worst part of this is I was so into it. I was so engaged into it and I put poured my heart and soul into it. And of course it didn't work, because it's not just about the numbers right...

I also have to have this feeling of being of service and providing value. And of course I did want to do that. But I was so engaged in all the tactics, that I did not see the forest for all the trees.

So, today I just want to give you permission to try... from wherever you are starting. Just make it just just do it. Just go from there and you will learn along the way! And I can assure you that life will teach you a lot of lessons along the way... and try to enjoy the journey... Right…?

Try to anticipate that you will fail, and you will find new ways, and you will learn things that you had never thought you would have to learn...

For instance making videos. That was one of the scariest things for me to do, because when you made this video you have put your heart and soul out there forever. Right…?

I remember doing my first video and nobody saw it. Right…? It took me like months to do. And nobody's saw it...

So, I want to give you permission to stumble around and fall down and hurt your knee. And I want to give you permission to be honest about it. Document your failures... actually make sure that the world sees you for a person not for some kind of... picture perfect sculpture on a pedestal. Right…?

You have to be real, you have to be you, to get people to know, like and trust you.

So, my advice for you today is... Go out there and skin your knee and come back and tell me about it.
